The Greek philosopher Hippocrates believed in viewing the whole person in other to find a cause of disease, and using the laws of nature to induce cure. It was from this original school of thought that we take the principles, which form the foundation of the naturopathic medicine we practice.

we will always try to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness rather than merely eliminate or suppress symptoms of diseases.

For example, if a patient is suffering from high blood pressure, conventional medical practitioners will start administering anti hypertensive drugs like diuretics, angiotensine converting enzymes inhibitors, e.t.c which work through different mechanisms all heading to bringing down the blood pressure, without finding out what made the blood pressure go up in the first instance.

Natural medicine in the treatment of high blood pressure for example, will try to look at the root cause of that problem and try to restore the physis through different mechanisms involving diet, detoxifications, exercises, Simple Herbs  e.t.c. which will ultimately carry out the healing process
